What We Do

Volunteer Marine Rescue Association of Queensland is recognised by the Qld Government, Department of Emergency Services, and the Authorities as the governing body for the 25 Accredited VMR Squadrons in Queensland. It represents it's 25 affiliated Squadrons at all levels and is responsible for the development and implementation of Training and Operational Policies.

It is the 25 Squadrons spread from the Northern Territory to the New South Wales border that provide the Search and Rescue Response Service to the boating community under the guidance and coordination of the Queensland Water Police.

Education:

The Association and it's Squadrons in conjunction with Queensland Transport Maritime Safety Branch provides boating and sea safety education programs to the community.

Insurance:

As the governing body, VMRAQ provides insurance to all it's affiliated Squadrons associated events , training and operational activities. All activities must be run in accordance with VMRAQ OH&S best practice and risk management policies.
